Join the Flames families this Sunday, May 18 as we sponsor our first annual hit-a-thon to raise funds for the summer travel teams. Each player should call her friends and family and send the sponsor link below to collect donations. In the donation form, each sponsor can list the girl(s) and/or teams they are sponsoring so the appropriate players get their credit. Here is the important information and donation link below:

Softball All-Star Program - Mandatory Parent Meetings


The “Burlingame Flames” are the league’s competitive or All-Star teams that play in ASA Junior Olympic “B” & “C” tournaments during the summer. Each year we form teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. We also form several 8U teams to play a short season in both jamboree and elimination format tournaments.

The summer travel teams are an excellent way for players with above average softball talent or an exceptional desire to play to continue their season for up to two months each summer. The summer travel teams test their skills at a higher level of competition with the best players in our league playing against teams from other leagues across Northern California. The summer season consists of weekend tournaments some of which involve travel. The teams form right after the recreation season ends in early May. The team coaches, division coordinators, President and Vice President of BGS select players for each team based on skill demonstrated during the season, coach recommendations, formal tryouts (see below for dates) and overall availability to play during the summer.

To register for summer travel teams, please complete the following form and plan to attend the mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday April 23 at the Burlingame Park and Rec. The 8U meeting will be held at 6:30PM and the 10U and 12U divisions will begin at 7:30 PM. Please use the following googledoc to confirm your attendance CLICK HERE:

Tentative tryouts dates for 12U will be held on May 1. Registration begins at 5:30-6:00 and then tryouts from 6:00-7:00 PM at Ray Park. The 8U will be held on May 4. Registration begins at 12:30 PM and tryouts are from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM, and 10U registration begins at 2:15 PM and tryouts are from 2:45-4:00 PM. Again, these are tentative dates so we will update if any tryout times and dates change. If anybody cannot make the date for their division, they can come to the other tryouts or please have your coach send in a recommendation.

Stanford Softball Pre-Game Experience – Thursday 6 March 2014


Well, Mother Nature may have rained on our Opening Day, but we’ve still got our big softball night at the Stanford game to look forward to. This Thursday, 6 March is BGS’s night at Stanford – our girls will be called down to the field before the game to meet the Stanford players and participate in a Q&A session with them. We’ll all go in our uniform jerseys (parents and coaches, if you have a BGS T-shirt or jacket please don’t be shy about showing your colors), and will be welcomed over the PA. Watching the college players in action is a great experience for our girls any time, but having met them in person right before they take the field really puts it over the top.

We will be playing or warming up on turf fields this weekend. These are water only fields. Food, gum, sunflower seeds, and dogs are not allowed on the fields. Also no spikes are allowed to be driven in to the field - you may use weights or buckets for nets only.
